The Deer Lake Red Wings kicked off the West Coast League playoffs Friday, knocking off the Royals 8-1
at the Civic Center. Alex Tulk had a big night to lead the winners; he had five assists. The Red Wings
got goals from eight different players, Brett Urguhart, Morgan Thorne, Josh Skinner, Luke Parsons, Luas
McKay, Ian Richardson, Robert Greene, and Mason Campbell.
The Royals, who once again played with a short bench, got their lone goal from Matt Colbourne. Goalie
Bradley Power had a busy night, facing 51 shots from the Red Wings' high-powered offence.
