There were goals galore at the Bruce 2 Friday; unfortunately for the home team, the visitors got the
most. The Corner Brook Royals exploded for 7 goals in the middle period en route to an 11-7 win over
Port aux Basques.
Josh Smith had a big night for the Royals with a 3 goal and 2 assist game. Daniel Noseworthy also had 5
points, with 2 goals and 3 helpers. Veteran Jeremy Bishop, a welcome returnee to the line-up after a
stint on the injury list, had 4 points including 2 goals. Matt Colbourne had a goal and set up 2 more.
Lucas Fabijancic, Kristian Kavli, and Ian Woolfry had the other Corner Brook markers. Woolfry, who
usually performs between the pipes, has been playing up front in recent weeks due to his team's short
bench. He has not looked out of place.
The Mariners were led by forward Dylan Savory and defenceman Robert Mercer. They each contributed 2
goals and 1 assist. The other Port aux Basques markers came from David Budgell, Scott Francis, and Drew
Nadon.
